Job Description

North Star Bakery is a small full-service bakery and coffee house located nearly half-way down the Palmer-Wasilla Highway. The cafe offers espresso, soups, and sandwich options and we bake a large variety of bread, pastries, and desserts and even have a full time cake decorator on premise. We provide bread service for several local restaurants in the valley, Eagle River, and even Anchorage. Everything is mixed and baked in-house and we do it the long way and without any added ingredients - nothing but water, salt, flour, and yeast.

Currently we are looking to grow our team with an evening bread baker. The front of the house is only open from 8am - 3pm but in the back we are constantly working. As part of providing only the freshest artisanal bread we need to not only be baking bread but constantly mixing starters, resting doughs, and proofing loaves.

We are looking to fill a part-time evening shift (5pm - 10pm) that would be responsible for mixing doughs and shaping loaves. The work requires a self starter who can both work alone and with an overlapping shift team member. We're looking for someone with experience but if you're just starting out in the industry we can find a spot for you to learn if you're ready.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
