The Tesla Charging team is searching for a strong, versatile technician, capable of working in a high paced environment on residential and industrial charging products. Responsibilities will include building prototype units, mechanical test setups, all while working around high/low voltage, thermal and HVAC systems. You will collaborate closely with design, test, and reliability teams.

Responsibilities

• Build electrical and mechanical test samples for engineering teams
• Troubleshoot both DC and AC charging systems, and electronics subsystem firmware/hardware issues
• Build PCBA functionality testers, run tests and record data
• Build and repair LV and HV wire harnesses
• Assist with testing at in-house or local contract laboratories
• Construct and debug test fixtures

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in an R&D electronics environment
• Strong understanding of engineering and reliability fundamentals
• Machine shop and electrical prototyping skills
• Great mechanical fabrication and soldering skills
• Highly knowledgeable in HV/LV electronic systems
• Experience using electrical test equipment, multi meters, hi pot testers and oscilloscopes
• Strong troubleshooting skills to the component level
• Perfboard work experience preferred
• First Aid/AED/CPR training highly desired

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $65.00 per hour

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Palo Alto, CA: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Preferred)
