AFA History: AFA was founded in 2002 by a family caregiver to ensure families affected by Alzheimer’s disease always had a place to turn for guidance, support, and services.


AFA Mission Statement: The mission of the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA) is to provide support, services and education to individuals, families and caregivers affected by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias nationwide, and fund research for better treatment and a cure.


Position Summary: Front Desk Receptionist will be the first point of contact for the organization.


Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Serve visitors by greeting, welcoming, directing, and announcing them appropriately.
  • Answer, screen, and forward incoming phone calls.
  • Assist with mailing, filing, scanning, copying, etc.
  • Schedule conference rooms, send out All Staff Announcements, when applicable.
  • With the Office Administrator, plan and coordinate staff events, on and off site.
  • Perform other office duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


Required: High School Diploma; 1-2 years office experience; Proficient using MS Office suite and Outlook; Must demonstrate professional telephone etiquette and excellent verbal and written communication skills.


Preferred (but not required): Working in a non-profit organization. Bi-lingual Spanish.
