Job Summary and Qualifications

The Endoscopy Technician/GI Tech are part of the medical team that uses endoscopes to diagnose or treat gastrointestinal problems. Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, the GI Tech assists before, during and after procedures by performing direct and indirect patient care that complies with hospital policies and the State Board of Nursing rules for unlicensed personnel. What You Will Do In This Role

• 
  You will assist with preparing the procedure rooms with working knowledge of aseptic and sterile technique.
• You will assist with the room cleanup and sterilization after the procedure.
• You will assist the team during the Endoscopy procedures including but not limited to sample collection, dilation and polypectomy.
• You will maintain inventory for instruments used.
• You will function in the role of Patient Care Tech, Unit Clerk (HUC) or Transporter and stock supplies as needed.
• You may assist with the patient intake process.

What Qualifications You Will Need

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
