Walloon Lake General Store is getting a fresh start and wants you to be a founding member of our team!

The Walloon Lake General Store has been serving customers in Northern Michigan for almost 125 years. Longer than the town has been called Walloon Lake! The General Store is being rebuilt in concert with other developments in downtown Walloon Lake and we need your help. (https://www.therenwickmi.com/general-store)

Our team will be starting to operate in temporary spaces and moving to our permanent location when construction is completed later this year. Join our team as we start this amazing adventure and work to serve our customers this summer and into the future.

Summary

The Grocery clerk will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service while ensuring the safety of the food and employees.

Essential duties and responsibilities

• Providing excellent customer service
• Assist in receiving inventory
• Assist in checking in of inventory
• Prepping and closing of department
• Monitor dates of floor and cooler inventory
• Maintain strict cleaning and sanitation of entire department
• Maintain strict quality standards
• Any additional duties the manager requires of you

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Must have excellent customer service skills
• Must have basic verbal, reading and mathematics skills
• Must be able to follow basic instructions
• Knowledgeable about company’s products and services, and customer-related policies

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience is preferred but not required-willing to train qualified candidates
• Successful completion of on-the-job training.

WORK ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must be able to work in warm and cold environments
• Must be able to stand, kneel, squat, bend and stretch for limited periods of time
• Must be able to lift to 50lbs
• Must be bale to maintain strict cleaning and sanitation schedule of department
