Internship Program Mission:
To engage in the selection of undergraduate and graduate talent (in specific roles, advanced degrees) for an internship with HAI Group designed to support each student’s focus of study by evoking the utilization of acquired knowledge, theory, and skills for practical application at work.
Internship Overview:
An intern on the IT Applications and Development Team will gain hands-on experience in the development and deployment of software programs to meet business needs. The software development intern will be exposed to new technologies and given the opportunity to learn them. They will participate in the daily sprint planning sessions with others on the team. They will also be assigned special projects to either enhance an existing system or potentially develop a prototype to explore a new system.
This is a full time, paid internship that is required to be on-site in the HAI Group office, located in Cheshire, CT. The program will run from June– August.
Major Responsibilities:
Academic Background:
Undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science with an emphasis on software development. The student should be a junior or senior or have demonstrated experience writing software.
Knowledge/Skills:
Experience:
Prior work experience not required, however, experience writing programs in a high-level language needed. Experience with a relational database and/or SQL would be helpful.
