About this role:

Due to the company’s consistent growth, WORKS is currently recruiting for an Experienced Carpenter to join our team.

The Experienced Carpenter responsibilities range from framing to finish carpentry in residential work sites. The successful applicant will be familiar with all activities and tools associated with providing experienced carpentry work. All work performed must be up to the standards and specifications laid out in the WORKS building and standards documentation provided to all employees to ensure the work can be warranted for 5 years.


Key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • The Experienced Carpenter works under the guidance of a Lead Carpenter or Homeowner (if working independently) to ensure:
  • The project plan details are thoroughly reviewed with the Lead Carpenter and/or Homeowner
  • All aspects of the carpentry schedule are appropriately planned, understood by the working team, and thoroughly communicated to all team members.
  • Under the guidance of Lead Carpenters and Supervisors, the Experienced Carpenter performs all tasks required from framing to finish carpentry to include:
  • Ensuring all work meets quality and standards of WORKS by JD
  • Meeting timelines for residential and commercial projects
  • Assisting Lead Carpenters/Homeowners with materials, supplies, and tool management
  • As directed by Lead Carpenters/Homeowners, the Experienced Carpenter will set up, clean up, breakdown, and maintain the work site while adhering to WORKS by JD construction standards and safety requirements.
  • The Experienced Carpenter is responsible for maintaining and updating time tracking, project management systems, and applications as needed.
  • Following WORKS by JD best practices and procedures and adhering to all safety requirements and regulations including OSHA & EPA Regulations for RRP (Renovate Repair Painting Program) on builds prior to 1978 is required at all times.
  • The Experienced Carpenter will be called upon, from time to time, to perform other duties assigned by the Lead Carpenter/Homeowner.

Qualifications:


The successful applicant will possess the following qualifications.

  • At least 2 to 5 years of carpentry experience from framing to finish work.
  • Core knowledge of building codes related to carpentry as well as a basic understanding of all areas of construction i.e., plumbing and electrical
  • The ability to calculate construction-related math
  • The ability to follow written and verbal instructions provided by both the Lead Carpenter and/or Homeowner.
  • OSHA 10 and RRP certifications (a plus)
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a collaborative team
  • Continuously maintain a high level of customer service and a strong work ethic.
  • Physically able to stand, walk, climb interior and exterior ladders or staging to 50 feet, and lift 80-100 lbs. continuously throughout the day.
  • The willingness to work inside or outside in New England weather throughout the year.
  • The ability to travel 45 minutes to 1 hour outside of Beverly to various job sites.

Other Company Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Be willing to submit to a background check to include a current review of the applicant’s driving record.
  • Be able to provide two documents, upon hire, showing proof of the applicant’s ability to be hired in the United States.
