Job Description


AECOM is seeking an Entry Level Engineer for our office in Virginia Beach, VA to support our infrastructure group in our Water Business Line. The successful candidate will have relevant experience/interest in one or more of the following areas: Water pumping/storage systems, potable water, storm water and sanitary sewer conveyance, water/wastewater treatment and sedimentation / erosion control. The successful candidate will work in a team environment and will be responsible for performing specific tasks and discrete portions of broader assignments while receiving supervision, guidance and mentoring from experienced engineers.


Summary Job Description

  • Builds analytic and design skills.
  • Collects and analyzes data.
  • Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.
  • Coordinates work with other engineers and professionals within and outside own discipline and with support services staff.

Qualifications


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in Mechanical or Civil Engineering. Min. GPA of 3.0.
  • United States citizenship or permanent resident status required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position including software such as Word/Excel, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, hydrologic/hydraulic models.
  • 0-2 years of relevant infrastructure related experience.
