Part-Time Assistant After School Chess Coach – Rewarding Work, High-Energy, Resume-Building, Growth-Minded, & Fun-Filled

No prior chess knowledge is needed. We understand that the best chess teachers are educators that understand chess, not chess experts that try to educate.

The Position: We’re looking for a Part-Time Assistant Coach with a genuine love for kids, strong integrity and character, a highly gregarious and professional personality, a love for laughter, and a valid driver’s license.

• Work with and assist teaching chess to kids by following our trademarked and perfected national curriculum that guides children all the way from learning the names of the chess pieces to mastery. Again, no prior chess knowledge is required.

The Schedule/Location: Your choice of 2-5 weekday afternoons. Our classes take place in the libraries and media centers of some of the best public and private schools in Brecksville and Broadview Heights.

• Establish and maintain a safe, fun, and engaging environment for the kids
• Follow The Knight School’s classroom management guidelines
• Continually emphasize good sportsmanship, including winning graciously, losing graciously, and teaching others.
• Use video lessons provided by The Knight School to facilitate an environment where kids are learning chess and having fun.
• At the end of the day, leave the classroom looking better than you found it.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.50 - $18.50 per hour
