Your role:

MilliporeSigma is seeking a motivated Specialist II to join its dynamic and collaborative Process and Analytical Development team at the Carlsbad viral vector CDMO facility. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of cell culture processes for the manufacturing of innovative viral vector therapeutics.

The Specialist II will:
  • Execute routine cell culture process development experiments with increasing independence
  • Support drafting of worksheets, summary reports, and technical transfer document under the guidance of experienced staff
  • Perform and assist in data analysis and interpretation of results with increasing independence
  • Support activities relating to process transfer from clients and internal partners
  • Apply sound scientific principles to make data-driven decisions with increasing independence
  • Interface with both internal and external customers to provide technical updates as needed
  • Communicate effectively with the management team, internal and external partners
  • Provide support and cross-train as business needs arise
  • Contribute to the routine housekeeping of the laboratory space
  • Routinely promote a culture of continuous improvement in the operation, technical capability, and client service
Who you are:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or other life science studies
  • 2+ years of experience in pharma, medical device, biologics, or other technical experience

OR
  • Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or other life science studies
  • 5+ months of experience in pharma, medical device, biologics, or other technical experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with quality systems and requirements within an FDA-regulated environment
  • Knowledge and experience with cell culture techniques and bioreactor operations
  • Ability to apply sound scientific principles to analyze and complete projects
  • Effective written and verbal communicator of scientific and technical ideas
  • Excellent organization skills and ability to prioritize projects and multitask to meet timelines
Pay Range for this position - $49,500 - $148,900

Our ranges incorporate all levels and career types available within this specific role, and are derived from relevant industry market data. Should we decide to make an offer, we will consider several factors, including but not limited to your location, skills, experience, career level, and other job-related factors.
