Our farm is located in Freedom, ME, twenty miles from our restaurant, bakery, and market Chase's Daily in Belfast, ME. Farm workers come from all backgrounds and come in all ages--our common denominators are often the love of work itself, of food and flowers, of being outside. Dancers, veterans, accountants, athletes, lawyers, students and untold others--we've worked with them all. The work is hard--physically and mentally--but so rewarding and stabilizing. We plant, tend, harvest, wash and pack. We work 8-10 hours most days. Saturday is a half day. The season runs from spring through November. Professionalism and a sense of humor is highly valued. Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs (occasionally, not repetitively), bend and kneel, use your hands, follow direction, work alone and as part of a team, work in all weather conditions, and fulfill your commitment for the season. Positions to be filled begin in April and May. There is no housing available. No experience is necessary though is certainly welcome. Pay commensurate with experience, professionalism, and productivity. Non-smoking only.
