Job Details:

  • Pay: $27+/HR (can pay more depending on experience level)
  • Location: North St. Louis, MO (more details upon application)
  • Contract: 6 Month Contract-To-Hire (designed to bring employee onto team permanently)
  • Shift Time: 8:30am - 8:30pm (Fri - Sun)
    • schedule plans for 36 hr work week -> will be compensated for 40 hours of work

Description:

This is a chemical manufacturing company that manufactures environmentally sustainable fertilizer products.

This team is looking to hire Entry Level Operators and Lead Operators to join their operating team. As a chemical filter operator here, you will be part of the manufacturing teams who are safely producing their products in an environmentally responsible manner. This includes but is not limited to taking samples from production lines, handling raw materials, filling products into their different packages and handling waste materials. This environment is NOT climate controlled, so the temperature can increase during summer hours.

Responsibilities include:

  • Operates equipment and monitors the production process to ensure efficient and safe output
  • Follows standard operating procedures and performs in process quality checks to identify and resolve issues during production
  • Troubleshoots problems with equipment, responds to system notifications, and makes required adjustments as needed
  • Enters required production data and information into logs
  • Performs reliability-based equipment care tasks
  • Collects samples and quality testing product
  • Reviews product for inconsistences or abnormal appearance assuring fertilizer meets quality requirements
  • Completes safety focused check sheets and environmental data collection sheets
  • Completes daily housekeeping, quality, and safety inspections checklists
  • Ensures adherence to preventative maintenance programs
  • Stops operations and activities that could harm staff or equipment
  • Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems

Prior chemical manufacturing is a plus, but not a must. We are looking for people who do not have a jumpy work history and evidence of holding down a job/loyalty. Looking for someone with a good work ethic and references that speak to them being reliable and a team player. Looking for someone who can communicate effectively and is excited about the opportunity to explore a career path like Chemical Operating. Since this is a higher level role than most production roles, there is a level of aptitude required. These could be people that held lead roles or worked their way up in manufacturing.

Required Qualifications:

  • COMPLETED High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience in chemical batching, compounding, or mixing REQUIRED
  • People with strong communication skills and ability to work as with a variety of different types of people and still communicate effectively.
  • People with stable work history (not jumping from job to job often)
